Keyboard Shortcuts

Aspect contains many handy keyboard shortcuts to make life easier:

On Startup:

Although it's extremely rare, glitches sometimes happen in sections of the user interface that manifest as missing elements.  This is related to Aspect saving the state of the user interface when exiting and reloading it when starting up (things like the position of the splitter between the tree views and detail areas, the state of collapsed sections, etc).  If you ever encounter any strange user interface issues like these the easiest thing to do is reset your layout:

    1. Exit Aspect if it's running.
    2. Restart Aspect.
    3. As soon as you see the splash screen appear, hold down the Ctrl and Alt keys at the same time.
    4. The Splash screen should show "Creating Main Aspect Window (Resetting Layout)...".
    5. Once Aspect has finished initializing, the layout will be reset and any glitches should be gone.

If you hold down the Ctrl key and click on an email address in the customer and site contact lists, Aspect will attempt to create a new email to that recipient using your default email program.

If you hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on the increment/decrement buttons on image numbers or barcodes, the corresponding on-deck values will also increment/decrement along with it.

If you hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on the Set button (the green check mark) of barcodes or images, the current value will be overwritten with the on-deck value.  Normally as a fail-safe, clicking on the Set button when data is present will do nothing.

If you hold down the Alt key while clicking on the Set button (the green check mark) of daylight images and visual problem images, the current value will be pulled from the alternate auto-sequenced field.  You can see what the primary and alternate fields are for an image by hovering the mouse over the Set button.  This can be combined with the Ctrl button as well.
