Creating Sites and Inspections

Please see the topic The Aspect Main Window to understand the general layout of the Aspect interface.  Doing so will help you with this topic and all that follow in this section.

Sites are locations where inspections are conducted.  Sites contain locations and equipment/components, which are the items you conduct inspections on.  You create inspections in sites, and those inspections produce the reports that you provide to your customers.  A customer can have any number of sites.  Think of a company that has several factories--the company is the customer and the factories are the sites.

To create a new site:

  1. Select the Customers, Sites & Inspections tab at the top of the main Aspect window.
  2. In the tree view on the left, the one and only root item in that tree is always the customer for this database.  Under that customer, all the sites are listed.  Select the Customer and do either of the following:
    • Right-click on the customer and choose New Site.
    • In the Ribbon Bar, make sure you're in the Home page and click New Site in the Customers, Sites & Inspections section.

To create a new inspection in a site:

Select the site you want to create the inspection in and do either of the following:

    • Right click on the site and choose New Inspection.
    • In the Ribbon Bar, make sure you're in the Home page and click New Inspection in the Customers, Sites & Inspections section.

New inspections are automatically created with the current date as the date of the inspection, and is changed in the inspection detail section.
