Problem Severity Ranges

Aspect uses several predefined ranges for calculating problem severity.  These are the tables containing the severities and temperature ranges for each type of predefined range used by Aspect:

NETA - Component to Component

Severity

Temperature Range

Description

Minor

1 to 3 C°

Possible deficiency; warrants investigation

Important

4 to 15 C°

Indicates probable deficiency; repair as time permits

Critical

>15 C°

Major discrepancy; repair immediately

NETA - Ambient Air

Severity

Temperature Range

Description

Minor

1 to 10 C°

Possible deficiency; warrants investigation

Important

11 to 20 C°

Indicates probable deficiency; repair as time permits

Serious

21 to 40 C°

Monitor until corrective measures can be accomplished

Critical

>40 C°

Major discrepancy; repair immediately

Military Standard

Severity

Temperature Range

Description

Minor

10 to 25 C°

Component failure unlikely but corrective measure required at next

scheduled routine maintenance period or as scheduling permits

Important

25 to 40 C°

Component failure probable unless corrected

Serious

40 to 70 C°

Component failure almost certain unless corrected

Critical

>70 C°

Component failure imminent. Stop survey. Inform cognizant officers

Experienced Based

Severity

Temperature Range

Description

Minor

1 to 10 C°

Corrective measures should be taken at the next maintenance period

Important

>10 to 20 C°

Corrective measures required as scheduling permits

Serious

>20 to 40 C°

Corrective measures required ASAP

Critical

>40 C°

Corrective measures required immediately

Motor Cores

Severity

Temperature Range

Description

Important

1 to 10 C°

No exception likely

Serious

>10 to 20 C°

Possible exception, consult motor core test data

Critical

>20 C°

Exception likely
