Running Reports

The Reports window is accessed through the Tools page of the ribbon bar.  You can run any of the built-in reports that Aspect offers, or build your own custom reports that consist of any number of the built-in reports and in any order.  Follow these steps to run reports in Aspect:

To run a report:

  1. Open the Reports window from the Tools page of the ribbon bar.
  2. Choose the report you want to run from the list of reports.

Some of the built-in reports require configuration in order to run.  Be sure this data is present before running the report.

  1. Click the Run Report button at the bottom of the window.

To mark a report as a favorite:

Click on the star next to the report you want to mark as a favorite on the left side of the report list.  Yellow stars mark a report as a favorite, and black ones are not.  Click the star again to change the report back to a non-favorite.

You can filter the report list to only show favorites by clicking the Show Favorites Only box in the upper-right portion of the reports window.

To only show custom reports in the list:

Click on the Show Custom Reports Only box in the upper-right portion of the reports window.  When checked, only custom reports that you have created will show up in the list.

Exporting a report:

After running a report, you must export it to a format that your customers can view.  We highly recommend using PDFs, because not only are they a ubiquitous file format, but also because PDFs allow you to retain Aspect's links between report elements such as the ability to click the link to take you to a problem's detail from the problem list.

To export a report:

    1. Click on the "Export" option in the ribbon bar after running a report (in the report preview window, not in Aspect's ribbon bar).
    2. Choose one of the file types you want to export to.
    3. Depending on the file type, the dialog boxes will vary, but generally it's sufficient to just tell Aspect where you want to export the report to.
